Boat Elope is a Maine-based elopement service offering couples the chance to exchange vows on the waters of Casco Bay, Portland, Maine.
BoatElope.com was one of those projects that let us flex our creative muscles in all the right ways. They already had a logo and gorgeous brand photo shoot, and our job was to take those pieces and build a full story around them. We loved the adventure/challenge of pairing visuals with voice: crafting copy that captured the essence of the owners, the romance, and the adventure, and designing elements that felt cohesive across the site. Plus, anytime we get to blend Maine’s coastal charm with a bit of timeless elegance, we’re in our happy place!

Step 1: Messaging & Copywriting
We developed a messaging framework and wrote all the website copy, striking a tone that is warm, inclusive, and a little cheeky, yet professional and polished enough for wedding content. The goal was to welcome couples of all kinds and make the process feel easy and exciting.

Step 2: Visual Identity Elements
Building from their photo shoot, we designed the supporting visual elements that carried the coastal, adventurous spirit through the site. From color choices to layout details, we made sure every piece of the site reflected the experience of eloping on Casco Bay, in Portland, Maine.

Step 3: Website Design
We built a Squarespace site that is both functional and user-friendly, allowing the owners to update the site themselves. The site features service pages, FAQs, a “How It Works” section, and a gallery to bring BoatElope.com to life. The booking process was streamlined, and the visuals create a sense of adventure and elegance.

Step 4: SEO & Launch Support
To prepare BoatElope.com for launch, we implemented a keyword strategy, wrote meta descriptions, and set the site up for growth. We also advised on Google My Business profile management and other content that lends itself to strong SEO.
Outcome & Impact
With strong copy, incredible visuals, and a newly launched website, BoatElope.com now has the tools to share their story and attract the right couples.
